This is important to my research because I can use it to prove how much money these casinos are making. Their stock prices are constantly rising, and their pairing with Barstool has made them rise even more. The gaming industry’s burst in 2007 is going to happen again due to the legalization and huge cash flow of sports gambling.

Academic Article 2: Emotional Regulation in Young Adults with Internet Gaming Disorder

This article goes into how some people can be diagnosed with an internet gambling disorder. The article talks about how subjects are easily addicted to gambling and the ability to do it online makes it much easier. I plan on using this in my article to talk on the opposite side of the buyout with Barstool. Due to their size and media reach, they have a a ability to reach many and promote gambling. Due to the nature of their content, some may see this as them encouraging the gambling and pushing their fans to start gambling their money. They have a duty to themselves to not promote this legal gambling to those underage and those who can have a problem with gambling.

Article 3: Analyzing the Trends in Gaming-Based Tourism for the State of Nevada: Implications for Public Policy and Economic Development

This article goes into how places grow due the gaming and gambling. The author talks about how Nevada and the Las Vegas Strip has grown a lot after gambling markets have been established. I plan on using this article to talk about how these new casinos Barstool are going to open with Penn National will benefit the local markets. Whenever they put in a new casino, each local community will see an influx in tax revenue. These casinos will bring in more tourism to these cities, even further benefiting. I will use this to prove how this purchase will be overall very beneficial to each company and the cities they build their casinos in.
